About Us

David, Doug, and Todd Garber, three brothers from Metamora, IL, established Running G Cattle Company on October 1st, 1999.  You are probably wondering, “Where is Metamora located?”  Well, it is a small town located about 15 miles northeast of Peoria, IL, which is in the central part of the state. We are in the heart of prime farming country where corn and soybean fields far outweigh the acres of available pasture.

One thing that all three of us have in common is our passion for Corriente cattle.  However, each of us has a very different vocation.  David works in the financial services industry.  Doug works for the local telephone company.  And Todd is a first grade teacher at a local elementary school.

Our herd started by purchasing four fullblood, registered, bred Corriente cows.  Later, we purchased our first herd bull, Shalom 926*, the 2000 N.A.C.A. National Champion Senior Yearling Bull at the Winnemucca, Nevada show.  Our herd has grown slowly, but with a great emphasis on producing high-quality breeding stock.

As alluded to in the opening paragraph, one item that is in short supply in this area is pasture. That is going to be our biggest limiting factor in growth of our herd size. On the other hand, we feel that by limiting our numbers, we can focus our time and efforts on fewer, but higher quality animals.

All of us at Running G Cattle Company want to thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  Please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail anytime.

 Thanks again.

Sincerely,

David Garber, Doug Garber, and Todd Garber
